Dream interpretation

Digital - who is he against the background of visuals, audials and kinesthetics?

All people, depending on how they perceive and process information, are conventionally divided into 3 categories: audial, visual, kinesthetic. Although it is believed that there are only three channels, in reality there is still a fourth one - called the internal or digital one. The person who belongs to the latter type is digital and the following article will tell about it in more detail. But first, let's talk about how we receive information from outside.

Types of perception of information, their features

First of all, you need to understand why a person basically needs to know which type he belongs to? How can this information help him in life? In total, there are 4 main types of perception:

  • visual - through sight;
  • auditory - due to the organs of hearing;
  • kinesthetic - here the senses are involved;
  • digital - thinking is used.

Depending on which sensory system is most developed, a person perceives the world through eyes, ears, tactile sensations or using logical knowledge.

It can not be such that other systems are not included at all, but one of them certainly prevails. It then starts the process of thinking, represents the initial impetus, provoking other mental processes: memory, visualization, imagination.

For example, you are advised to imagine a soft cat fur:

  1. The person with the visual type of perception is the first thing the animal itself represents, and only then it remembers what kind of pleasantly woolen coat it has.
  2. Audio - reproduces the sounds that the animal makes, and only then turn to other sensations.
  3. Kinesthet will instantly feel how a soft fur touches his skin, after which an image of a cat will appear in his head.
  4. The digital must mentally speak the name of the object (the cat), the inner speech will help it to recreate in its imagination its image and fur.

It turns out that we can all imagine a four-legged pet, but for some people the image will immediately pop up in the head, while for others it will be reproduced later with the help of its prevailing system. It is thanks to the starting system that the stimulus turns into an image in the brain. Accordingly, if you want to learn a better understanding of your loved ones, as well as yourself, and understand the information submitted in what form will be learned faster and more qualitatively - knowledge of the types of perception will be required.

Characteristic types of perception of information

Let us consider in more detail all types with their characteristic features.

Such people strongly betray their facial expressions. For example, when they try to reproduce one or another event in their memory, their eyes turn to the upper left corner. And if they look up to the right, then a picture of future events is created in the imagination.

One of the important signs that allows to detect visuals is the presence of a defocused gaze turned into the distance. Interestingly, the representatives of this type of perception of information are most easily caught by insincerity. Their eyes will help you with this:

  • If you ask a specific question and see that the look immediately moved up to the right - you can be sure that you are lying. The man began to think about his future and creates in his imagination something that in reality never happened.
  • And if the eyes look up to the left - the interlocutor extracts the necessary information from his memories.

Visuals are most interested in the visible part of the world. Communicating with them, you need to use descriptive words. It is also allowed to speak quickly, actively gesticulate, create images in the air with your hands and actively use your facial expressions.

The visual perceives most strongly what it can see with its own eyes. Therefore, he will pay more attention to the expression of his interlocutor, and only then to the tone or manner of speech. It is important to look at him during a conversation so that he does not think that the conversation is completely uninteresting to you.

In addition, the visuals concentrate on the appearance: they evaluate the accuracy of a person, how well his image, make-up, hair color, and so on suit him.

Information to people-visuals best comes in the form of images. It is easy for them to create in their imagination various pictures of what they are told about. And to facilitate the task, you need to apply the concepts characteristic of this type of thinking. These are the following words:

  • see;
  • look;
  • take a look;
  • let's get a look;
  • pay attention and so on.

The visual also uses similar phrases:

  • imagine yourself;
  • take a look
  • need to note that it looked like this;
  • I see what you say;
  • look what I mean by others.

And if you still refer to various descriptive terms, there is no doubt who you are dealing with.

And these people get information about the world through sounds. They are dominated by hearing, and for the most part they have developed communication skills. Music brings real pleasure to the audial, they constantly listen to the radio, TV, they can not be in silence for a long time.

Such individuals do not like to write anything, trusting their own memory more. At the same time, they all the time mumble something under their breath, speak in a voice for better awareness and memorization. In a conversation, the auditory, unlike the visual, will not look into the eyes, preferring to draw an ear to his protege.

And in communication uses the following phrases:

  • "Listen to me"
  • "Why do you say that to me?"
  • "That sounds attractive."
  • "It will tell me a lot."

That is, refers to the tone, sound and voice timbre.

Wanting to bring audila to clean water, you need to ask him a question, and then follow the reaction. Remembering something, he concentrates not on the image, but on the sound component, using the following expressions:

  • "How was it told me?";
  • "I heard that ...";
  • "It was interesting to hear his opinion" and the like.

When communicating with a person who perceives the lion's share of information through sounds, you need to use audible words. Also pay attention to the timbre of your voice, intonation, speed of pronunciation of words. Remember that the auditory is not so much thinking about the subject of the conversation, how about how you speak.

He perceives speech without concentrating on facial expressions. He has enough words and facts, but does not need any details at all.

This category of people is most guided by sensitive experiences, supported by emotions. In their memory, sensations, movements, aroma are best preserved, and they also pay attention to the senses.

Accordingly, when communicating, they will use phrases relating to heat / cold, gravity / lightness. For example, you can hear something similar from kinesthetic:

  • “I was so excited that my head was heavy and my skin began to get goosebumps”;
  • "It frightened me so much that a cold sweat came out on my body";
  • "It made me tremble."

It is important for kinesthetics to be able to touch what they are talking about. They also need physical intimacy with the other person. When communicating, they will surely approach you as close as possible and will not miss the opportunity to touch. Standing in one place and listening attentively is almost an impossible task for such a person.

If you want kinesthetic to understand you better - use words that express feelings and emotions. And do not expect from him an instant decision, it will take time. Due to the fact that kinesthetics in the literal sense of the word "feel in their gut", do they act in the right direction.

If you know that you are interacting with kinesthetic, then allow him to touch you - so he will come into contact more quickly. Also, some psychologists believe that such people are strongly influenced by the temperature of the surrounding space. Therefore, it is necessary to take care in advance that the room was not too hot or cold.

Having dealt with who is such a visual, audial, kinesthetic, it remains to refer to the last category - digital.

Digital is a person who is characterized by logical, schematic thinking. Information is perceived by him on the principle: it is logical or not. The word itself comes from the English language, in which “digital” is “digital”.

A representative of this type is always trying to establish the presence of logic in what he is being told. He is also interested in and trying to understand the process of the device, why it works so and not otherwise, why it is necessary.

The bulk of people-digital are representatives of the stronger sex. The surrounding reality is perceived by them through causal relationships, schemes, formulas and functionality.

It is interesting that a person who has this type of perception of information did not receive it from birth, but developed it in himself, when he was already an adult. It happens that the digital channel is activated after suffering psychological shocks that occurred in childhood or in adulthood.

Some psychologists express the opinion that the digital can see, hear and feel at the same time something that their psyche cannot cope with. And for the purpose of self-defense, the brain enters a special mode, when all sounds, images and sensations are modified to schemes that are not capable of causing fear or anxiety.

How to understand that you communicate with digital? You will get the impression that this is a cold, emotionless person, a kind of human computer with a head full of knowledge. And he diligently lays out all the information "on the shelves" in his brain. But in reality this is nothing more than the outer shell, and in fact, the digital is a rather sensitive and vulnerable person.

In communication with others, he constantly uses these words:

  • is logical;
  • I know;
  • I suppose;
  • carefully and similar.

Digital man is a great strategist who easily plans and uses facts. He achieve success in solving difficult tasks. Information is memorized and processed by them gradually, logically, without haste and fuss.

Such a serious process requires some time. Accordingly, the digital cannot simultaneously perceive many new ideas, situations, and it will be difficult for him to immediately meet a large number of people.

In order for such an employee to be effective, he needs a well-defined plan, agreed deadlines, and the ability to prepare diligently. He will definitely not like it if someone tries to get into his personal space, unexpectedly changes the plan of action, asks a question that should be answered immediately. Very tired from the rush.

It is noteworthy that the term "digital" was introduced relatively recently, about 15-20 years ago. Prior to this, all people were divided into only 3 types of information perception.

It is interesting to know what type you are? I propose to take the test in the following video:
