All people, depending on how they perceive and process information, are conventionally divided into 3 categories: audial, visual, kinesthetic. Although it is believed that there are only three channels, in reality there is still a fourth one - called the internal or digital one. The person who belongs to the latter type is digital and the following article will tell about it in more detail. But first, let's talk about how we receive information from outside.

Types of perception of information, their features

First of all, you need to understand why a person basically needs to know which type he belongs to? How can this information help him in life? In total, there are 4 main types of perception:

  • visual - through sight;
  • auditory - due to the organs of hearing;
  • kinesthetic - here the senses are involved;
  • digital - thinking is used.

Depending on which sensory system is most developed, a person perceives the world through eyes, ears, tactile sensations or using logical knowledge.

It is thanks to the starting system that the stimulus turns into an image in the brain. Visuals

And these people get information about the world through sounds. They are dominated by hearing, and for the most part they have developed communication skills. Music brings real pleasure to the audial, they constantly listen to the radio, TV, they can not be in silence for a long time.

Such individuals do not like to write anything, trusting their own memory more. At the same time, they all the time mumble something under their breath, speak in a voice for better awareness and memorization. In a conversation, the auditory, unlike the visual, will not look into the eyes, preferring to draw an ear to his protege.

Accordingly, when communicating, they will use phrases relating to heat / cold, gravity / lightness. For example, you can hear something similar from kinesthetic:

  • "It made me tremble."

It is important for kinesthetics to be able to touch what they are talking about. They also need physical intimacy with the other person. When communicating, they will surely approach you as close as possible and will not miss the opportunity to touch. Standing in one place and listening attentively is almost an impossible task for such a person.

If you want kinesthetic to understand you better - use words that express feelings and emotions. And do not expect from him an instant decision, it will take time. Due to the fact that kinesthetics in the literal sense of the word "feel in their gut", do they act in the right direction.

If you know that you are interacting with kinesthetic, then allow him to touch you - so he will come into contact more quickly. Also, some psychologists believe that such people are strongly influenced by the temperature of the surrounding space. Therefore, it is necessary to take care in advance that the room was not too hot or cold.

Digital is a person who is characterized by logical, schematic thinking. Information is perceived by him on the principle: it is logical or not. The word itself comes from the English language, in which “digital” is “digital”.

A representative of this type is always trying to establish the presence of logic in what he is being told. He is also interested in and trying to understand the process of the device, why it works so and not otherwise, why it is necessary.

The bulk of people-digital are representatives of the stronger sex. The surrounding reality is perceived by them through causal relationships, schemes, formulas and functionality.

It is interesting that a person who has this type of perception of information did not receive it from birth, but developed it in himself, when he was already an adult. It happens that the digital channel is activated after suffering psychological shocks that occurred in childhood or in adulthood.

Some psychologists express the opinion that the digital can see, hear and feel at the same time something that their psyche cannot cope with. And for the purpose of self-defense, the brain enters a special mode, when all sounds, images and sensations are modified to schemes that are not capable of causing fear or anxiety.

How to understand that you communicate with digital? You will get the impression that this is a cold, emotionless person, a kind of human computer with a head full of knowledge. And he diligently lays out all the information "on the shelves" in his brain. But in reality this is nothing more than the outer shell, and in fact, the digital is a rather sensitive and vulnerable person.

Digital man is a great strategist who easily plans and uses facts. He achieve success in solving difficult tasks. Information is memorized and processed by them gradually, logically, without haste and fuss.
